Fraunhofer IIS/EAS

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS performs contract research and development for industry and public authorities in the fields of microelectronic systems and software. The researchers of its division EAS develop methods for computer-aided design of electronic and heterogeneous systems. They elaborate models, methods and tools for rapid implementation of products consisting of circuits, electronic devices or complex sensor systems. An important task is to bridge the gap between innovative manufacturing technologies and system design. Furthermore, innovative technology development in particular fields, e. g. image sensors, condition monitoring or smart textiles, is part of the research activities. The R&D results are applied in microelectronics and its application domains like digital broadcasting, automotive industry, mechatronics or automation engineering.
